Strategic Place Leaders cannot avoid hearing the phrase ‘levelling-up’ and with CV-19 likely to cause even greater disparities between some places it is critical we get this right. This insights piece considers ‘levelling-up’ as a concept within 40 years worth of effort to rebalance, regenerate, or renew places throughout the UK. The point being made is that we need to start getting this right and Government needs to listen far more to the local, and to practitioners, if the objective is to be achieved.
